Becky Jones grew up in Asheville, North Carolina and has vacationed with her family since the seventies, to what was then Long Beach and what we know today as Oak Island. She attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. Her love of the coast and warm childhood memories brought her to move permanently to Oak Island in 1999 with her own young family. Becky worked for the Town of Oak Island with the parks and recreation department and as the senior customer service representative at Coastal Federal Bank before opening and operating her dream job the Flying Pig Coffeehouse OINC, for a rewarding seventeen years. She has served on the board of the Southport-Oak Island Chamber of Commerce as Vice President of Business Development, and served on the board of the Oak Island Beach Preservation as membership chair, being awarded Volunteer of the Year by the Town of Oak Island for that contribution, and she is an establishing member of the the Island Riders, an informal bike group that for over a decade has raised money and biked as a team in support of the National MS Society. Becky is invested in this community: parent, friend, volunteer, and former long standing small business owner. Upon retirement from the coffee business, Becky is pursuing a new dream focusing her drive and energies into the real estate profession to continue to serve the area. ” My primary goal is to make every client a client for life- let my hard work, dedication and area know-how work for you – either to find the home that is right for you or to find the right buyer for your home-“. When Becky is not working on your behalf, she enjoys all the area has to offer and is a year round beach walker, writer, reader, dog lover and jigsaw puzzle enthusiast.
